Steven LeDuc - Age Group Director

Steven LeDuc joined Machine in September 2022 and brings over 13 years of swim coaching experience. Prior to joining Machine, he was the head varsity swim coach at Marshall High School for four years and an assistant for six. He continues his role as the associate head coach at Cardinal Hill (CHSRC) in the summers, where he has been since 2012. In 2022 he helped lead CHSRC to a division four title. During his high school career he had several swimmers named to the all district team. Over the course of his career, Steven has coached numerous NVSL champions and swimmers who went on to compete at the collegiate level.

Steven’s coaching philosophy is to balance the mental aspect of sports with the physical to ensure everyone he coaches enjoys coming to practice every day. His background in education allows him to instruct swimmers in a clear and a positive way that all types of athletes can learn from. His balanced philosophy and his clear passion for coaching has earned the trust of his swimmers and is a favorite coach at all age levels.

Cliff Gordon - Senior Coach

Coach Clifton Gordon began coaching in 2015. Prior to joining Machine, Coach Clif was the Gold 2 coach at NCAP at the Georgetown Prep site. Before that, he was the head coach at Hillsborough Aquatic Club in North Carolina. While at NCAP and HAC, he has helped many athletes achieve Jr. National, Futures/NCSA, Sectional, and Senior Championship qualifying standards. Coach Gordon currently serves as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair for Potomac Valley Swimming.

Gordon grew up swimming with the Delaware Swim Team in Wilmington, Delaware under Coach Bruce Gemmell and Coach Sean Dougherty.  He swam for 4 years at the University of North Carolina, where he graduated with a degree in Interpersonal and Organizational Communications.  While at UNC, he was a member of the All-Time Top 10 in the 200 yard Backstroke and 100 yard butterfly, and was a recipient of the 2014-2015 Hill Carrow Team Spirit Award. Over his swimming career he qualified for USA Swimming Junior National Championships, U.S. Open, and National Championships.
