Tanya Chang - Site Director
tanya@machineaquatics.com
Tanya swam competitively starting in the sixth grade and in high school qualified for the Pennsylvania State Championships and YMCA Nationals. In addition, she qualified for and medaled at Division III Nationals while swimming for the Johns Hopkins University. She graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. and completed graduate work at the George Washington University. Tanya worked for the Federal Government for several years before becoming a full-time mom and teacher for her three kids. While she started out coaching for a couple of years for the Nittany Lions Aquatic Club while at Penn State, she has been coaching in the Loudoun County area since 2017 and has been with Machine Aquatics since September 2022. She loves the sport of swimming and wants to pass on that enthusiasm, dedication, and love of the sport to the younger swimmers.
Hannah Walker - Age Group Director
hannah@machineaquatics.com
Hannah Walker's love for swimming began in her early childhood, growing up as a spirited competitor with SNOW Swimming and various summer swim teams (Belmont Sharks, Greenville Gators and Lovettsville Dolphins). The pool was her second home, a place where she found joy, challenge, and a lifelong passion. Hannah continues to swim into her mid-20s for recreation and recovery. For the past nine years, she has shared her love of swimming as an instructor in Virginia, Indiana, and Colorado, bringing her expertise to swimmers of all ages. Her teaching is marked by a genuine connection with her students, fostering both skill and confidence in the water. Now a proud mom to her 15-month-old daughter, who already shows a natural affinity for the water, Hannah finds a balance between life as a young mom and her swimming career. This fall, she is thrilled to join Machine Aquatics as a new head coach at the Ida Lee and Round Hill Aquatic facilities. Hannah's journey from a young competitor to a seasoned coach is more than just a career path; it's a testament to her unwavering dedication and passion for the sport. She looks forward to bringing her personal touch to Machine Aquatics, inspiring and nurturing the next generation of swimmers with the same enthusiasm that has fueled her own lifelong love of the water.
